The Jurassic Coast as it is now known has become a World Heritage site.I love walking along the wonderful coastal path especially during the winter when the wind whips the hawthorns into the most amazing shapes and the sea pounds against the cliffs.

I have been working on a series of photographs of Meadows this year and have found some of the most stunning on the cliff edges above Studland.

To cross the Avon valley from the New Forest to the Cranborne Chase is to enter another landscape, still controlled by its rural economy, but having a dimension missing from the enclosures of the forest.

Steep downlands and dramatic coastal cliffs, across which the S Westerly winds sweep in winter,break the skylines in contrast with the nestling villages of stone built farms and houses.

Recent storms along the coast have caused a reconfiguration of the landscape.Cliffs have either slipped or tumbled toward the ever invasive waves which sweep the debris out and along the Dorset shores .
